Elizabeth Bear is the nationally best-selling, John W. Campbell and Locus-award winning author of the Jenny Casey books (Hammered, Scardown, and Worldwired), an ongoing fantasy series called The Promethean Age (starting with Blood & Iron, in summer 2006), a short story collection from Night Shade Books (The Chains that You Refuse), and most recently (in December of 2006), Carnival, a science fiction novel.
Her forthcoming work for 2007 includes Promethean Age modern fantasy Whiskey & Water from Roc, a post-colonial science fiction thriller called Undertow from Bantam Spectra, a short fiction collection from Subterranean Press entitled New Amsterdam, and a co-authored subversive second-world Norse fantasy from Tor, A Companion to Wolves, with Sarah Monette.
She lives near Hartford with a pushy cat, and is afraid of her deadlines.
