Wayne Allen Sallee - 28th
I’m 47, now in Burbank, but still dangerously close to Chicago. I decided I had to keep writing after reading THE DARK COUNTRY and wondering how it was that Dennis Etchison crawled into my brain. My stories appeared in Daw’s YEAR’S BEST HORROR STORIES XIV-XXII. I was a Finalist for the Bram Stoker award in five separate categories, Best First Novel, Collection, Short Story, Novella, and (sic) Novelete. (Gotta love those HWA proofreaders). I’ve had stories reprinted in France, Spain, Italy, Germany, and Finland. How the hell they know me in Finland is anybody’s guess. Midnight Library just published the 15th Anniversary edition of my novel THE HOLY TERROR, with a forward by me describing the car accident that kept me from writing it over a year. My collection FIENDS BY TORCHLIGHT is available by Annihilation Press, which will be reprinting FOR YOU, THE LIVING and three other of my Stoker losers later this year.
